Kingston, Jamaica—In celebration of women for March, Zipporah Hair and Skin Ltd visited the Elsie Bemand Home for Girls on Friday, March 12, for a surprise they will never forget. CEO of Zipporah Hair and Skin Ltd, Carmen Hope Thomas, donated one year’s supply of Zipporah’s Intense Moisture Hair Care System and chemical-free sanitary napkins to the home which housed over 500 girls since its establishment.
“This was a very important day for Zipporah. We are always trying to find ways to give back to our community, educate persons about using all-natural products and teach people of colour to love and embrace their natural beauty,” said Thomas
The Elsie Bemand Home was created to establish a temporary shelter for girls in need of care and protection. During their stay, the girls receive education, counseling services and are provided with a loving home and an extended family.
“We are very grateful to receive such an amazing donation from Zipporah. From the look of the packaging, you can tell this is a premium product that will work wonders for the girls ’hair. I have been trying to tell the girls that going natural is the best solution to all their hair problems,” said an enthusiastic Venita Walker, Manager/ House Mother for the Elsie Bemand Home.
In her mission to inform more persons of colour about the high levels of toxins in hair and skin products, Thomas was grateful for the opportunity to share this message with the home. “We choose the Elsie Bemand Home for Girls because they are strong young women of colour who have overcome numerous challenges. These young women are not only equipped with the natural products to care for their hair, but the mindset to feel beautiful in their skin” explained Thomas after her conversation with the young ladies who gathered under a mango tree.
With a newfound love for all-natural hair products and embracing a chemical-free life, the young women of the Elsie Bemand Home for Girls could not wait to get started on their all-natural journey.
